ABOUT

Thank you for your interest in my one-of-a-kind sculptures. I'm a fifth generation artist and sculptor. I grew up in a family ranch in Union, Oregon. I am a mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt, sister, and wife. My wonderful husband taught me to weld. We  are the parents of two dogs and two cats. All of my creations reflect my life and my stories. It's my sincere hope that my work inspires others to look for beauty in recyled objects. Whether you want an original work of art for your yard, or something for inside the house, I hope you find something on this site you like, if not, please contact me and I will create something that will be in your family for generations to come.

Some pieces welded into my sculptures are over 100 years old. I handpick each piece of rescued metal for specific purposes, sometimes digging them out from inside huge piles of junked scrap metal. Some of the unusual chains I use are no longer manufactured. My favorite works are fabricated from bits and pieces of draft horse harnesses and farm equipment from the last century. View the videos below to learn more about me, where I live, the objects I work with and my latest work.

If you are traveling in Eastern Oregon, you can see my work at Grizzly Ridge Upcycle, Sisters, Oregon or at Short Term Galley in Baker City.

DRAGONS

I have built four different dragons. The one above and on the front page of this site is the largest so far. I built it for the Portland Home and Garden Show. It is about 8 feet tall and has over 7,000 scales. There is approximately 600 feet of weldable rebar in the frame. The wings are a full sheet of expanded metal, hand cut using a die grinder. That was a learning experience, I should have used my plasma cutter. I wanted the dragon to look like it was moving. To do this I bent all of the rebar in slight curves using a long pipe and my body strength. The glass eyes are hand painted. The blueing that gives it the peacock colors was done by my husband using a torch to to blue each scale individually. We worked on this dragon for about 6 months. We finished it the day before the home show started. THIS DRAGON IS AVAILABLE FOR SALE. Please contact me for information. Please note, that we will transport the dragon to your location.
